چکیده

Concrete is an essential element and widely used in various industrial construction works. However, concrete weak its specific gravity range of 2200 – 2500 kg/m3. Using lightweight aggregates one way to reduce the weight concrete. In Indonesia, availability coal fly-ash (CFA) easy obtain abundant, while utilization rate still low. To overcome this problem, CFA mixed with epoxy resin (ER) as a binder manufacture polymer (PLA). The manufacturing process uses simple mixing method using three different compositions. ratio composition proposed study are 90:10 (PLA_90:10), 80:20 (PLA_80:20), 70:30 (PLA_70:30). From results testing compressive strength aggregate compositions, it was found that PLA_70:30 had 74.60 MPa 1668 kg/m3 at age 28 days. microstructure shown by scanning electron microscope (SEM) photo each composition. greater on aggregate, better bond between particles. improperly bound becomes more fragile when there less used. Furthermore, which has become crushed inserted into mixture design quality f'c = 17.5 MPa, following requirements for quality. result 18.38 days, varies 1918.87 - 1928.93 According ASTM, tests show meets standards specified structural

Prediction of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete Compressive Strength

Nowadays, the better performance of lightweight structures during earthquake has resulted in using lightweight concrete more than ever. However, determining the compressive strength of concrete used in these structures during their service through a none-destructive test is a popular and useful method.  One of the main methods of non-destructive testing in the assessment of compressive strength...

Fly Ash-based Geopolymer Lightweight Concrete Using Foaming Agent

In this paper, we report the results of our investigation on the possibility of producing foam concrete by using a geopolymer system. Class C fly ash was mixed with an alkaline activator solution (a mixture of sodium silicate and NaOH), and foam was added to the geopolymeric mixture to produce lightweight concrete. The NaOH solution was prepared by dilute NaOH pellets with distilled water. The ...

Fuzzy Logic Model for Prediction of Compressive Strength of Lightweight Concrete Made with Scoria Aggregate and Fly Ash

In this study, a fuzzy logic prediction model for 3, 7, 14 and 28 days compressive strength of lightweight concrete made with scoria aggregate and fly ash under different curing conditions (standard and air curing) was devised. In mixtures containing fly ash, 15% of Portland cement by weight was replaced with fly ash. The specimens were cured in standard curing conditions at temperature 20±2 °C...

Properties of Green Lightweight Aggregate Concrete

With increasing concern over the excessive exploitation of natural aggregates, synthetic lightweight aggregate produced from environmental waste is a viable new source of structural aggregate material. The uses of structural grade lightweight concrete reduce considerably the self-load of a structure and permit larger precast units to be handled. In this paper, the mechanical properties of a str...

Flashag – New Lightweight Aggregate for High Strength and Durable Concrete

A new patented lightweight aggregates is tested. This type is given the name Flashag. The only solid raw material used to manufacture these aggregates is fly ash. The aggregates are sintered but not pelletized and the process is easy and inexpensive. This paper describes these patented aggregates and compares them with other lightweight and normal-weight aggregates that are used for concrete. T...
